A few months ago, I couldn’t find the purchase agreement for my house. I was quite irritated and worried! In my opinion, I keep my files in pretty good order. But that didn’t seem to be the case. I spent hours searching, couldn’t understand the world anymore, and was a little irritated that even my prayers weren’t helping.
Then finally, the Holy Spirit gave me an impulse: Psalm 55:23: “Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.”
At that moment, I was able to let go. Weeks passed, and every time the thought popped into my head, “Where could the contract be?”, I exclaimed, “You will not leave me in turmoil forever!” That worked pretty well. It was a training exercise in trusting and letting go, over and over again.
Then suddenly, in a moment, the Holy Spirit directed my eyes to a narrow folder in the office, and there it was, next to the other folders! Pure relief! Thank you, Lord, you keep your promises! M.H.
