My attempts to heal her in Jesus\u2019 name had not produced any immediate results! In Germany, in such cases, you have to\u2014or rather, you go to\u2014the doctor, who referred her for immediate emergency surgery. It was a retinal detachment of the macula\u2014the center of the retina, the point of sharpest vision, responsible for 95% of our eyesight. My wife underwent emergency eye surgery, performed according to today\u2019s standards of ophthalmic surgery, but with a certain prognosis of reduced visual acuity or blindness. It took 3 to 4 months before the condition could be properly assessed, because the internal gas tamponade in the eye had to be reabsorbed first! Her vision gradually improved until the ophthalmologist was astonished to find that there were no longer any traces of the surgery. The retina and the macula were completely normal, and my wife could see better than before! Completely surprised, he said, word for word: \u201cToi, toi, toi (i.e., devil, devil, devil)\u2014it\u2019s a \u2018Saint Odilia healing\u2019 (Odilia is the patron saint of our region)!\u201d I immediately corrected him and said, \u201cNo, it\u2019s a miracle of God, a healing by Jesus with the doctor\u2019s involvement!\u201d Throughout this entire time, we had never stopped believing in the healing and confessing it with our words.
